Residence Life professional staff
and current students gathered in the Atrium to attend the Resident Assistant
Reception for potential RA candidates.
Each year, Residence Life brings
together current RAs with Students interested in applying for the position.
The reception is an opportunity for
students to meet the Residence Life staff and ask questions.
First year RA Anita Goncalves and
Second year RAs Andi Aiken And Christopher McKay spoke about applying for the
position and challenges they face as an RA. Resident Assistants serve as an
additional resource for students who live in the residence halls.
“The biggest thing is to do it if
you think you will enjoy the role because it will make the job a lot harder if
you do not,” RSA Patrick O’Mara said.
Students who attended the reception
said they believed it helped them get ahead in the application process.
“I’m really excited to get to know
the Professional Staff and the RAs. I’m eager to slide right into the
position,” Sophomore Tommy Farrell said.
